About

My sister was kicked out of the medical sonography program at Cape Fear Community College on the basis of poor clinical evaluations, which she found highly suspicious given her average on her scan tests was a 94.7. After investigation, she found significant evidence of foul play. It is a case of collusion, conspiracy, and ostracization. My sister was targeted by a local sonographer, Amber Vencill, who is employed by Novant NHRMC and Advanced GYN Solutions. You may also know Amber as the leader of a local Bible Study (Gather and Grace). She is also a former girlfriend of our brother. Amber spent several months spinning a false narrative about my sister and other members of our family in an effort to recruit other sonographer friends (who would eventually be serving as clinical instructors to my sister) to join her in a scheme to derail my sister from finishing the medical sonography program at CFCC. It is important to note: the Sonography program at CFCC (from which Amber graduated), has NEVER graduated a full class (10 students) in its almost 20 years of existence. Each year, an average of 2 students (sometimes more) is dismissed from the program by the director and instructors of the sonography program. Knowing this, it seems as though Amber wanted to get ahead of the game and ensure my sister was one of those students by disparaging her before she ever began her time in the program; as was evidenced by a comment made to her on DAY ONE by a lab instructor. It has become clear that this program is subjectively run, and if you don’t “fit the mold” you are dismissed, whether the dismissal is warranted or not-they will change grades, “encourage” clinical instructors on evaluations to secure failings, and down right lie in order to make this happen.

It is also important to note that while Kellee Stacks, Laura Currie, and Angela Meeker (CFCC sonography instructors) cannot control the outcome of written test scores, they can—and do— control the subjective grading with clinical instructors as well as lab instructors. They do this through predetermined narratives as you will see evidenced in screen shots between Lisa Carter and Amber Vencill. This is also evidenced by a conversation overheard between Carla Wolff and Marianne Welch concerning a phone call with Kellee Stacks to whittle down my sister’s evaluation. Angela Meeker communicated with Lisa Carter at Delaney Radiology (the very person that would be evaluating Camryn) seven days before her evaluation, and informed (instructed) her that Camryn would receive a bad evaluation and be placed on a "Plan of Action.”  It is also interesting that after the evaluation was done, Lisa Carter texted Amber Vencill (who had nothing to do with Camryn's education) and informed her that her evaluation of Camryn should have "sealed the deal.”

Students in the Sonography program at Cape Fear Community College are graded through a system called Trajecsys. When Camryn began the sonography program, the clinical instructor would evaluate you in a number of different categories that would generate a letter grade. You can immediately see your grades after they have been posted and responsible students will certainly pay close attention to their grades.  My sister was one of those students and knew exactly what and when they would be posted.  She saw her clinical evaluation grade from Novant Health Medical Plaza Clinical site of 99.27 and then noticed it had later been removed. The grade was then later lowered to fit into the predetermined narrative created by the self-appointed sonography gods of Cape Fear Community College.  Screenshots are also available from Kellee Stacks to the clinical instructor of Novant Health Medical Plaza concerning the evaluation grade of 99.27.  The instructor was good with the grade, but since it was not a reflection of the desired outcome, Kellee obviously decided to lower the grade to reflect poor performance.  It is also interesting that once Kellee, Laura and Angela had been caught changing grades, the system was changed to where they would communicate with the clinical instructors before posting to "get the grade right" the first time.  This is the purpose of Kellee making a phone call to the clinical instructors at Maternal Fetal and working together on the grade to reflect poor performance.

All of these individuals should lose their jobs.

In an attempt to eliminate any drama, my sister sought legal counsel in the matter. She presented all of her evidence to her attorney, who filed a complaint that consisted of nearly 350 paragraphs (due to the insurmountable volume of evidence). Because some of the “recruits” were also instructors at Cape Fear Community College, my sister approached the Dean of Student Affairs, Robby McGee, to inform him of the scheme. He immediately escalated it to Vice President of Academic Affairs, Brandon Guthrie. VP Guthrie was given some (but not all) of the evidence and immediately reinstated my sister to the sonography program. CFCC first sought to settle with my sister for $12,000, but my sister made it clear it wasn’t about money; rather, it was to make the wrong right and terminate those involved in the scheme. After that point, Cape Fear filed to have the case dismissed. Due to the loads of evidence, my sister’s attorney all but assured her there was no chance of that happening because there was simply too much evidence there and a Judge would want to give the evidence the opportunity to be presented and heard in a fair trial. I am releasing all evidence pertaining to this case publicly today, because I was, and still am, completely floored that the Judge abruptly sided with Cape Fear Community College, and dismissed the entire case, effectively denying my sister the opportunity for a fair trial. No matter how big an institution is, EVERYONE is entitled to a fair trial. I am asking for you to take the time to READ, LISTEN, and SHARE the evidence to bring awareness to the fact that this is happening in our local, government-funded community college, and by employees in our local healthcare system

  • Instructors (Sonography Program Instructors) went into a third party portal used to grade students and lowered my sister’s grades to make it appear as though she was not proficient despite the fact that she was excelling.

  • Kellee Stacks sent a text to all lab instructors stating that they were going to kick my sister out of the program, instructing them on what to say to an appeals committee about my sister should she appeal her removal from the program, and telling them that they “might have to end up keeping her in the end” and “she wont go down easy”.

  • Angela Meeker (Program Instructor) illegally forged my sister’s initials on a plan of action which my sister had not agreed to sign. Angela went on to deny the forgery in her response to the official complaint.

  • Angela Meeker admitted that she, too, lowered my sister’s grades after the initial publication. This was admitted to VP Guthrie and he called my sister to relay the information to her.

  • Brandon Guthrie (CFCC Vice President of Academic Affairs) stated that he initially assumed this to be a case of a disgruntled student due to poor performance; however, upon further investigation and seeing all evidence presented to him, he replied, “when I saw this, I said ‘mmm this is different.’”

  • Brandon Guthrie reinstated my sister into the program 3 days after he was shown a portion of the evidence (she later experienced this all over again and was kicked out a second time under the same circumstances). Suspiciously, my sister heard at the hearing that two of the individuals who were involved, Ashley Gaul and Nicole Herren, are former employees. Both of which appear to be admissions of guilt on behalf of CFCC.

  • Amber Vencill, local Sonographer at Novant NHRMC and Advanced GYN Solutions, along with Lisa Carter (local Sonographer at Delaney Radiology) engaged in multiple disparaging text messages about my sister and Lisa sent Amber a message saying that her evaluation of my sister should “seal the deal” on getting her kicked out.

  • Amber Vencill and Lisa Carter violated HIPAA by exchanging multiple patient images from their respective workplaces and discussing patient information. (Screenshots are possessed; however, we will not share those publicly due to HIPAA)

  • During her last clinical rotation, my sister was told 2 days in a row by 2 separate clinical instructors, to take an extended lunch break (sonography students are typically afforded a 30 minute lunch break). Seven days later, Kellee Stacks (program director) summoned my sister to leave her clinical site in the middle of the day for a meeting at the main campus of CFCC. This was a 25 minute drive each way from Novant ED North. The reason for the meeting was to reprimand my sister for taking extra time for lunch and to place her on probation for the extended lunches. Again, her clinical instructors, Tina Wood and Mandy Harrington,  told her to take the extended lunches 2 days in a row. My sister did not request extra time. My sister’s grade was then docked on her evaluation, for taking a long lunch. She was also graded very poorly on areas in which she had always received a 100 in previous clinical sites/evaluations.

This is merely scratching the surface of the depth of this case. My sister’s attorney was confident this case would not be dismissed due to the glaring evidence of illegal activity. Unfortunately, that’s not what happened:

  • My sister and her attorney were not afforded their opportunity to fully present their case, as the judge, Bob Cherry, ignored my sister’s attorney when she stood up to give her final rebuttal to the defendant’s rebuttal.

  • My sister’s case was #5 on the docket for the day and the judge repeatedly delayed hearing my sister’s case until the very end of the day when no one else was in the courtroom. Perhaps they DO NOT want this information public.

  • CFCC’s attorney requested this specific court day (1/23/24). FYI-attorneys can view which judge is presiding over court on particular days in advance

  • The judge also ruled that Kellee Stacks is a public official hired by the power of a statute and therefore cannot be sued…WHAT?! She is an instructor at a local Community College-that is an employee, NOT an official. However, even if she were an official, she is not immune to the law as she acted with malice and corruption.

Perhaps the MOST INTERESTING fact is that while my sister was terminated from the sonography program for poor grades and performance, a few weeks later, she received her letter congratulating her on making the Honor’s List for academic performance, which she legitimately did. Lol. At the time of her dismissal, the average of all 10 of my sister’s scanning tests (comps) she had competed during her time in the program, was a 94.7%...unless this number has been altered as well.

Recordings and screenshots of all of this information are possessed by my sister.

I just want the truth to be exposed since the case itself was never allowed to be heard and my sister was not protected as a student at CFCC.
